Marimel S. Tilley, O.D., Advanced Therapeutic Optometrist at Lusk Eye Specialists.
After enlisting and serving in the United States Air Force, Dr. Tilley graduated with honors from Louisiana State University. Later that same year, she earned her second degree from Louisiana Tech University, graduating magna cum laude. She then went on to achieve a third degree, her Doctor of Optometry, after graduating with honors from the Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Tilley is therapeutically licensed for diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases by the Louisiana State Board of Optometry and Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. She’s also a member of the American Optometric Association of Louisiana, the Armed Forces Optometric Society, and the National Association of Veterans Affairs Optometrists.
She’s a dedicated eye doctor and provider of primary eye care, ocular disease management and treatment, specialized contact lenses, and pre and post-operative care for eye surgery. Her specialties include severe dry eye, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, presbyopia, astigmatism, irregular corneas, and co-managing cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and other eye procedures.
When not at Lusk Eye Specialists, Dr. Tilley remains on Inactive Ready Reserve for the U.S. Air Force Reserves, acts as an eye doctor at Overton Brooks Veteran Affairs Medical Clinic, and provides telemedicine. Dr. Tilley is also a clinical adjunct professor and supports optometric externships for the Western University of Health Sciences and the University of Houston College of Optometry.
She loves spending her downtime with her son and her husband, a fellow retired Air Force veteran.
